I was invited to contribute an illustration for the More of Something Good project — an illustration food directory which celebrated Asian eateries and supermarkets.
My contribution was the Taro fish snack which is a nostalgic tribute to one of my all time favourites as a kid.
“As a kid, my mum would often take me with her to do her Sunday grocery shopping at the asian supermarkets along Victoria Street in Richmond. As she started picking out fresh produce, I’d venture off to the snack aisle and attempted to discreetly fill up the shopping basket with a few snacks by hiding them underneath the all the vegetables. Taro Fish Snack was a flavourful savoury treat that would often make its way into the stash.”
